Nyege Nyege Festival

Four days and nights of music, art and culture on the banks of the River Nile at Kalagala Falls, about ninety minutes from Kampala. The 11th edition brings more than 300 artists from over 40 countries, on stages that run through to sunrise. It is Uganda's largest festival and the single biggest reason people travel out of town all year. Note the venue carefully: the festival is marketed as Jinja, but Adrift Overland Camp sits on the Kayunga side of the Nile at Kangulumira, reached from Kampala on the Gayaza to Kayunga road rather than through Jinja town.
