The Cyber Run: "The Human Firewall Run" is Uganda’s first community-driven cybersecurity marathon. The event is organized by the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) Uganda Campus, which is the first overseas campus of the world's only dedicated forensics university.
The run is designed to blend physical fitness with critical digital education. Its specific objectives include:
- Promoting Mass Cybersecurity Awareness: The marathon aims to establish a proactive, community-level defense against the rising threats of social engineering, identity theft, and mobile fraud. The goal is to move digital safety education out of private corporate workshops and directly into the public sphere.
- Funding Community Impact Initiatives: All proceeds generated from the marathon are strictly dedicated to two charitable causes. These are the "Cyber-Safe Schools Initiative" and a localized "Women in Cyber" digital bootcamp.
- Direct Public Engagement: Through the "Cyber Village," participating sponsors can directly educate the public on safe transacting habits. Partners will use this space to showcase secure banking apps, explain multi-factor authentication, and reinforce anti-fraud messaging.
